Occupational Safety Specialist
Role Overview
We seek a skilled Occupational Safety Specialist to provide expert support and advice on occupational health, safety, environmental, and quality matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide guidance and support to management teams and staff on occupational health and safety best practices.
* Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and risks, ensuring a safe working environment.
* Collaborate with staff and contractors to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and contractual requirements.
* Identify areas of risk and develop measures to mitigate and control them.
* Produce regular HSEQ performance reports as required.
* Promptly alert management to significant accidents and incidents, facilitating swift action and resolution.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with external bodies, including regulatory agencies.
Requirements:
* Significant experience in occupational health and safety on construction sites in Ireland.
* Excellent academic qualifications, preferably a 3rd-level qualification in health and safety.
* Proven expertise in relevant HSQE standards and management systems.
* Educated to degree standard or equivalent professional qualification in a related field.
* Membership of a recognized professional institute.
* Comprehensive training in industry-specific issues.
* Proficiency in computer software and applications.
* Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Full driving license.
