Reporting to: The Board of Directors through the Chairperson
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary Range: €60,000 - €70,000 per annum

Who we are:
Through our Support Centre, the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation (Registered Charity Number: 20049102) provides psychological, emotional, and practical support services and information to cancer patients, their families, and carers in a friendly and supportive environment. The Foundation is undertaking an exciting project to build a new, state-of-the-art support centre in Limerick City.
The Role:
The General Manager will lead and manage the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation Support Centre, ensuring the delivery of holistic care for patients with cancer, supporting research, and leading fundraising efforts for the new centre project.
Essential Experience / Skills:
* Experience managing and motivating a team in a client-facing environment
* Experience managing budgets
* Stakeholder engagement skills with experience influencing at senior levels
* Proficiency in ICT applications including Word, Excel, and online data management systems
* Fluency in verbal and written English
* Experience preparing and monitoring grant applications
* Experience sourcing funding and managing community-raised funds
* Experience leading and managing volunteers and contractors
* Knowledge of compliance with the Charities Act 2009
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Human Resources and Financial Management
* Manage staff, therapists, counsellors, CE workers, and volunteers
* Support team motivation and development
* Delegate tasks and empower staff
* Oversee recruitment, training, and appraisals
* Monitor expenditure and ensure financial compliance
2. Operations and Service Delivery:
* Ensure compliance with best practices and policies
* Manage resources, scheduling, and client appointments
* Maintain confidentiality and oversee administration, payroll, and reporting
* Handle complaints and develop website and social media content
3. Centre Development and Fundraising:
* Contribute to strategic growth and the delivery of the business plan
* Lead fundraising activities and build partnerships
* Assist with marketing and public relations
4. Other Duties:
* Represent MWCF in national and regional meetings
* Prepare reports and statistics
* Support grant applications and good practice initiatives
* Perform other duties as directed by the Board
