In this role, you will support and act as program across four risk work streams:Regulatory: Supporting the MICA regulated entity in review and managing the Firm's risks and challenging and assessing the Firm's systems and controls against the requirement of the regulationsGlobal Insurance: Responsible for the design and oversight of the enterprise-wide strategy for managing Kraken's commercial insurance management.Global Internal Fraud: Responsible for the design and oversee the enterprise-wide strategy for managing internal fraud risk, including risk assessments, control enhancements, and employee awarenessGlobal Escheatment: Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting and remittance of unclaimed property across all U.S. states and applicable jurisdictions, while also driving process improvements and risk mitigation in line with regulatory requirementsYou will work closely with Information Security, IT, Compliance, Finance and Internal Audit to strengthen our technology risk posture and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and enterprise risk appetite.This role is open to candidates currently living in Ireland.The opportunityAssess the processes linked to the safeguarding of client assets in accordance with the Client Asset RegulationsIn conjunction with the Head of Client Asset Oversight, review and independently assess the client asset management planConduct periodic reviews of the client asset reconciliations processLead the development and execution of a commercial insurance programNegotiating commercial insurance policies with brokers ensuring adequate coverage whilst mitigating applicable risksLead the development and execution of the internal fraud risk management program, covering both operational and cyber-enabled fraud scenariosConduct regular internal fraud risk assessments across departments and business units; identify high-risk roles, processes, and control gapsImplement and monitor fraud prevention controls, including access controls, segregation of duties, transaction monitoring, and whistleblower mechanismsInvestigate allegations of internal fraud, coordinate evidence collection, and manage case documentation in partnership with Legal, HR, and Internal AuditProvide reporting for executive management, Audit Committees, and regulators on internal fraud trends, incidents, and remediationLead or support training programs to promote employee awareness of internal fraud risks and reporting obligationsMaintain incident logs, case management systems, and support regulatory inquiries or audit examsLead and manage the end-to-end escheatment process for unclaimed digital and fiat balances across 50 U.S. states, DC, Puerto Rico, and other applicable jurisdictionsCoordinate due diligence notifications to users via automated email, in-app messaging, and physical mailings when required.Partner with Legal and Compliance to interpret escheatment implications for crypto-native products (e.g., custodial vs. non-custodial wallets, DeFi exposure, tokenized funds).Develop and maintain technical SOPs, system logic, and reconciliation protocols for identifying escheatable assets across complex data environments (on-chain and off-chain).Collaborate with Engineering and Data teams to implement automated dormancy tracking, alerts, and audit logs.Manage relationships with escheatment vendors (e.g., Sovos, Keane) and/or state administrators.Prepare for and support state audits, VDAs, and regulatory inquiries related to unclaimed digital assets.Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements into scalable operational and technical processes.Skills You Should HODLBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field5+ years of experience managing escheatment, unclaimed property, or regulatory reporting in a financial services, fintech, crypto, or large enterprise settingDeep understanding of U.S. state escheatment laws and dormancy rules across property typesExperience with escheatment filings, due diligence mailings, and audit responsesStrong analytical skills and attention to detail;
