Job Title: Construction Engineering Lead
About the Role:
This is a high-profile opportunity for a skilled Senior Engineer to join our team in Galway. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading on-site Health and Safety initiatives and ensuring all operations meet regulatory and internal standards.
Responsibilities:
* Lead on-site Health and Safety agenda, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
* Review design drawings, manage RFIs, and collaborate with the design team to resolve issues promptly.
* Oversee subcontractor coordination, testing and commissioning timelines, and drive timely project delivery.
* Maintain quality control procedures, champion QA systems, and ensure statutory regulations are met.
* Implement and monitor DMS systems, manage benchmarks and inspection processes.
* Manage stakeholder relationships, including utility providers and local authorities.
* Drive value engineering initiatives and support the Project Manager in early stakeholder engagement.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to the site engineering team, managing performance and development.
* Coordinate site meetings, oversee temporary works, and integrate subcontractor work packages seamlessly.
Requirements:
* Degree-qualified in Engineering (HETAC Level 8) with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
* Proven ability to meet demanding programme and quality standards.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Detail-oriented, methodical, and self-motivated with strong initiative.
* Comfortable managing multiple workstreams and assuming responsibility for key tasks.
* Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
