The Role As Hotel Financial Controller, you will have overall responsibility for the financial performance, controls, and reporting of a portfolio of hotels, with additional involvement in a new property at development stage.
Reporting to senior leadership, you will act as a key financial partner to General Managers and Directors, supporting both operational and strategic decision-making.
You will oversee all aspects of hotel financial management including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, audit, cash flow, and working capital.
A significant part of the role involves leading and developing a professional Accounts team, ensuring strong controls, high standards, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Full financial control and accounting responsibility across multiple hotel properties Preparation, review, and ownership of annual budgets, forecasts, and monthly results Delivery of accurate, timely management accounts and performance reports Cash flow management, cost control, and profit improvement initiatives Tax compliance and oversight of statutory, internal, and external audits Development and enforcement of financial policies, procedures, and controls Financial analysis to support revenue enhancement and cost optimisation Safeguarding of hotel assets and maintenance of a strong control environment Acting as a financial advisor to General Managers and senior stakeholders Leading, mentoring, and developing the Accounts team Driving performance through goal setting, reviews, and structured feedback Supporting strategic projects, including new property development Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards Candidate Requirements Qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) Strong, demonstrable hotel or hospitality financial management experience Proven ability to operate at both strategic and operational level Advanced Excel and strong financial systems capability Experience with accounting and hospitality back-office systems Excellent analytical, organisational, and decision-making skills Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management ability Leadership experience with a collaborative and people-focused approach Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA Please note: Applicants must be based in or within commutable distance of Dublin.
