Our client is seeking a Head of Finance to join their expanding leadership team in Oranmore, co. Galway. With 85 years in business, the company holds a strong market position in Ireland and across Europe. Operating in the crop protection, amenity, veterinary and garden care sectors, they are entering an exciting phase of accelerated growth supported by a clear strategic vision and significant investment. This is a high-impact leadership role at the centre of financial oversight, commercial insight, and strategic enablement. Role Overview The Head of Finance will lead all financial management functions, ensuring robust financial reporting, compliance, and risk management. The role exists to build a high-performing finance function that supports strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and organisational scalability. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Governance Lead all budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes. Ensure full regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and strong risk management. Enhance Board-level reporting to support strategic financial conversations. Present financial insights to the Board, CEO, and senior leadership. Lead capital raising initiatives with government agencies, pillar banks, and external investors. Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate closely with Operations and Commercial teams to provide financial guidance and analysis. Support feasibility assessments for R&D, regulatory projects, and capital investment proposals. Contribute to M&A activities including due diligence, integration and investment planning. Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, procedures, and internal controls. Key Interfaces Internal: Board of Directors, CEO, Finance Team, IT, Operations, Commercial, Project ManagementExternal: Auditors, Regulators, Banks, ERP Vendors, Consultants Key Performance Metrics (examples) 100% on-time delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting Zero major audit findings; full regulatory adherence Risk management SOPs documented, implemented, and reviewed annually Delivery of 3 meaningful finance improvement projects per year Strong support across M&A, Board requests, stakeholder engagement and system upgrades Required Capabilities Strategic & Operational Skills Strong analytical capabilities with a proven ability to deliver clear decision-support insights Experience in leading cross-functional projects and driving organisational change Financial Expertise Deep experience in budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, audit and governance Skilled at Board-level communication and presenting strategic financial insights Experience with ERP systems (ideally SAP) and an understanding of finance/IT architecture Strong collaboration and communication skills across senior and operational stakeholders Demonstrated ability to build high-trust relationships across Finance, IT and Operations Development Priorities for this Role Enhance project delivery capability across the Finance function Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks, and delegated authorities Build leadership capability and depth within the Finance team Desirable: Experience leading ERP optimisation or SAP enhancement projects.
