Overview
Opportunity for a Mechanical Construction Manager to join our Data Centre team in Dublin. The Mechanical Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and budgetary requirements. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including engineers, subcontractors, and clients, to achieve project objectives and maintain timelines.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute project plans, schedules, and budgets for mechanical construction activities.
2. Coordinate and monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications.
3. Manage and supervise mechanical construction teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
4. Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
5. Provide technical guidance in the installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping.
6. Oversee quality control measures to ensure all work completed meets industry standards and regulations.
7. Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and best practices on construction sites.
8. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for construction personnel.
9. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards during construction activities.
10. Liaise with project owners, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure project goals are met.
11. Attend project meetings, presenting updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
12. Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
13. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and compliance documentation.
14. Prepare and submit regular progress reports to upper management and project stakeholders.
15. Ensure proper documentation for change orders and additional work requests.
16. Monitor project budgets and expenditures, identifying potential cost overruns and implementing corrective actions.
17. Evaluate and approve invoices from subcontractors and suppliers.
18. Assist in the forecasting of labour and material needs for upcoming projects.
Experience
* Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical construction management.
* Proven track record of managing large-scale mechanical projects from inception to completion.
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction practices.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
