Offer description

Purpose of post:

The Payroll Officer will be a key player in the Payroll Department-a department which has full responsibility for the accurate preparation, processing, and payment of Fortnightly and Monthly payrolls for Peamount Healthcare.

Eligibility Criteria:

* A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
* Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character
* Minimum of 5+ years payroll processing experience involving 600+ employees.
* IPASS or equivalent Payroll Qualification.
* Good working knowledge of pay and pension related public sector guidelines, circulars and compliance requirements.
* Project support, systems upgrades, process improvements
* IPASS
* 3-5 years payroll bureau experience

Duties & Responsibilities:

* End-to-end payroll processing
* Processing Time Sheets for all staff
* Processing Tax Returns for Collector General
* Processing New Starter Forms and Leaver Forms
* Maintaining records for Superannuation Department
* Conduct reconciliations, variance analysis, respond to audit/queries
* Completing Social Welfare Forms for Illness Benefit, Maternity Benefit, Family Income Supplement, Medical Cards, Carers Allowance etc.
* Completing Salary Certificate Forms for Loans and Mortgages
* Processing of Illness Benefit/Maternity/Paternity Payments received.
* Processing/Payment of Voluntary Deductions
* Calculating and processing arrears of pay due to staff and pensioners.
* To prepare all management and accounting reports on a timely basis.
* Setting up beneficiaries/payments using Business On-Line.
* Ensuring internal controls are adequate to protect the interests of the organisation.
* Liaising with internal and external auditors and ensuring that controls and checks are put in place to address any recommendations arising therefrom.
* Providing cover for absences due to holidays and sickness etc.
* Answer Payroll queries from staff.
* Support Finance with the Month End and with Projects
* Ad-hoc reports as required.
