People Operations Manager Cork Bus ireann is seeking experienced and dynamic Service Delivery Managers and People Operations Managersto joinour CorkAreaManagementTeam.We haveseveralopportunities acrossour multi-depot operations in the Cork and Tralee region. (Capwell, Tivoli, Tralee). The Service Delivery Manager and People Operations Manager roles are highly interdependent and are required to work in close partnership to ensure seamless operational performance and effective people management within the Cork/Tralee region. Together, both functions will lead on workforce planning, service delivery, attendance, and employee engagement, aligning operational and people objectives. As part of a collaborative leadership team, each role will provide cover and support for the other when needed, ensuring continuous leadership during absences or peak periods. While candidates may have a stronger preference for either Service Delivery Manager or People OperationsManager,theinterdependentnatureoftherole,andthemulti-sitelocations,shouldallow for candidates to be considered for either roles. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the people aspects of operations, ensuring they are effectively managed in alignment with the Regional Operations plan and HR policies and procedures. You will provide strong leadership to the clerical team and help foster an environment that supports Bus ireann as a great place to work. The role will focus on key areas such as employee engagement, workforce planning, and ensuring compliance with essential HR policies, including Attendance, Dignity & Respect, Discipline, and Flexible Working. You will report to the Senior Regional Operations Manager and work closely with Service Delivery Managers and other members of the regional team. Additionally, you will manage the operations clerical team for Cork ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while contributing to the development of a positive and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain an understanding of the service delivery requirements of Cork and ensure the workforce plan is managed to meet them.This means planning to maintain workforce requirements and collaborating withcentraland local HR teams inrecruitment and selection. Actively manage driver availability including effective management of attendance, planned andunplannedtoensureservicedeliveryrequirementsaremet.Ensurecompliancewiththe attendance management process including 'Return to Work' interviews. Take a leadership role in the employee engagement strategy for the team, identifying, and implementing key initiatives to support creating a great place to work.Champion opportunitiesforemployeeparticipationandrecognitionsuchasGEMS,HaveYourSay,Bright Ideas. As a subject matter expert, ensure all employee and disciplinary matters are fully investigated in a fair and transparent manner, consistent with the agreed procedures. ActasachangeagentinidentifyingandleadingonOperationschangeopportunitiesincluding use of technology, business process improvements, team performance and workforce management. Using anopen-door policy, ensure allemployee concerns / matters are addressed promptly and fairly, and escalated if necessary. Role model good performance management by adopting a fair and consistent approach in performance management discussions (GPS) with all direct reports. Hold regular 1:1 meetings, providing constructive and timely feedback allowing the best opportunity for success.Managetheemployeeprobationaryprocessinlinewithpolicy,includingfordrivers. Ensure all expenditure including overtime is managed within budget, with approval process in place. Ensure full compliance with the Company cash management policy, to include any driver shorts and overs. Responsible for Facility Management in Cork to provide the best possible working environment for colleagues. As a member of the Regional Operations Management team role model the Bus ireann values, acting as an ambassador for Bus ireann in local and regional interactions. The position may be required to deputise for colleagues and/or Senior Management. Key Skills & Knowledge: Demonstratedtrackrecordinmanagingpeople,preferablywithinanOperationsenvironment with good people management practices. Provenability toprioritise andplan,managingcomplexdatasetsandputtingin placethe business processes to deliver on the plan. Detailedknowledgeofrelevant peoplepoliciesandprocedures andkeeps current withER/IR changes. Strongbusinessacumen,understandingthefundamentalsofbusinessandfinancial performance. Proven experience of leadingincreasingly complex change initiatives from idea through to implementation. KnowledgeofrelevantRegulationsanddemonstratedexperienceinleadingcompliance.
