Services include residential long- and short-term care, dementia care, acquired brain injury care, respite care and home care support.
Role Overview The Catering Supervisor oversees all healthcare catering operations, including main kitchens, lifeskills kitchens, cafe, and shop.
This leadership role ensures full compliance with HIQA standards, HACCP, EHO, and Health Safety requirements, while delivering high standards of nutrition, food safety, and customer service.
You will work closely with clinical and management teams to support residents' nutritional needs, manage staff, and uphold operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities Service Delivery Operations Oversee daily operations of all catering areas including: Orwell Private dining Orwell Queen of Peace dining Special dietary requirements (e.g., allergen control, texturemodified diets, pureed/soft diets) Cafe on the Avenue Kitchenettes (stock control, cleanliness, inventory management) Retail shop stock control Ensure compliance with: HIQA Standards HACCP processes Food safety regulations Infection Control protocols Monitor food waste and conduct food satisfaction surveys to improve service delivery, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all preparation, service, and transportation areas.
Participate in menu planning, nutrition meetings, and events with the Activities and Management teams.
Team Leadership Training Lead and supervise all catering, kitchen, cafe and shop staff to ensure professional presentation and performance.
Provide staff training, induction and ongoing development, including HACCP training and food safety training.
Manage daily rosters, ensuring safe staffing levels while maintaining value for money.
Conduct internal audits, quality checks, and performance reviews.
Customer Service Resident Support Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring a positive resident and visitor experience.
Support front-of-house, cafe, and retail operations when required.
Respond promptly to resident feedback, concerns, or complaints.
Coordinate catering for events, celebrations, and special occasions.
Compliance, Safety Reporting Uphold full compliance with: HIQA, EHO, H S and OH standards Nutrition policies (hydration, choking risk, modified diets) Infection prevention and control guidelines Ensure the security of residents' property and Orwell Healthcare assets.
Maintain and update all required documentation: Monthly HACCP audits Weekly hygiene and operations audits Daily kitchenette stock and cleanliness checks Daily dining experience checks Prepare contingency plans for supply chain issues, delivery delays or staffing changes.
