Role Purpose:
The primary role of the Senior Network Customer Engineer is to deliver customer‑centric services, produce low‑level technical designs and install Vodafone Business solutions to the highest standards. The engineer works closely with Projects, Configuration and Integration teams and Enterprise Services Operations to complete documentation and knowledge transfer before handing over for life‑time support. The engineer assists Presales teams by validating solutions that use Vodafone’s product portfolios and collaborates across the business to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and can be reliably deployed.
Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities:
Has strong technical expertise across multiple technologies.
Applies expected product behaviour and industry best practices.
Peer‑reviews Pre‑Sales technical solutions to guarantee straightforward deployment and meet our operational standards.
Ensures designs include proper network or solution management for monitoring, reporting and capacity planning.
Defines and gains sign‑off for low‑level technical design/implementation guides for contracted solutions.
Builds and stages network solutions for customer HQ, distribution centres and branches according to design documents.
Supports upgrade, implementation, deployment and go‑live activities inside and outside business hours.
Adheres to Change Management processes to minimise impact on Vodafone and customer networks.
Provides systems/product training to internal stakeholders and customers.
Delivers deep troubleshooting expertise for all accountable networks and services.
Collaborates with vendors on complex product issues, driving defect resolution.
Works with cross‑functional teams to resolve major customer issues when required.
Identifies and resolves problems proactively.
Participates in on‑call rotations and supports call‑center specialists.
Contributes to network problem resolution and root‑cause analysis.
Works independently with minimal supervision, following high‑level instructions for new assignments.
We Are Looking for You If You Have:
Proven track record of building and delivering customer solutions within agreed timelines.
Excellent customer interaction, written and verbal communication.
Expert knowledge of WAN/LAN design and routing/switching/forwarding protocols.
Experience contributing during Pre‑Sales/bid phases.
Ability to prioritise and manage stakeholders to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong grasp of Aruba technologies (essential).
Aruba Wireless experience (essential).
Aruba Clearpass experience (essential).
Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) (desirable).
IMC/Aruba Airwave/Aruba Central experience (highly desirable).
HP Master ASE or Aruba ACSP certification (desirable).
Cisco CCNP level certification (desirable).
Firewall technologies – Cisco ASA, Palo Alto (desirable).
Ability to build strong internal/external relationships with key stakeholders.
Engineering professional with 4+ years’ experience in a large complex environment.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
Strong problem‑solving, analytical thinking and decision‑making capabilities.
Willingness to master new technologies to meet customer requirements.
Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences.
Influencer across the team and wider business striving for continuous improvement of processes and customer experience.
