We're seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer who thrives in production environments and has hands-on experience keeping complex systems running smoothly. This role goes far beyond initial deployments - you'll be responsible for the ongoing health, performance, and reliability of our production platforms. What You'll Do: Maintain and optimize production applications under real-world load and user traffic Manage database operations including performance tuning, backup strategies, failover procedures, and capacity planning Operate messaging systems with focus on throughput, reliability, and message delivery guarantees Administer NoSQL databases including monitoring, scaling, data consistency, and disaster recovery Troubleshoot production incidents and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence Monitor system health and proactively address performance bottlenecks before they impact users Implement robust backup and disaster recovery procedures that have been tested under real conditions Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are production-ready and operationally sound Required Experience: 3+ years of hands-on production support for web applications or distributed systems Database administration experience with production databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) Messaging system operations (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, or similar) in production environments NoSQL database management (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or similar) including scaling and performance optimization Production incident response experience with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot under pressure Monitoring and alerting setup and management (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar) Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) used for ongoing operations, not just initial setup Chosen candidate must be located in Ireland!
