Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced
Maintenance Landscaper
to join our team. The role involves the ongoing care and upkeep of gardens and grounds to ensure they remain healthy, safe, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, knowledgeable in horticulture, and committed to delivering consistently high standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine grounds and garden maintenance, including:
* Grass cutting, strimming, and edging
* Hedge cutting, pruning, and shaping
* Weeding, planting, and seasonal bedding changes
* Leaf clearance, mulching, and soil care
* Monitor plant health, identify pests/diseases, and apply appropriate treatments.
* Ensure all sites are left clean, tidy, and to company standards.
* Safely operate and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment.
* Follow agreed schedules and work plans for each client/site.
* Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Provide excellent customer service and act as a professional representative of Vardis Group.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Previous experience in grounds or garden maintenance.
* Good horticultural knowledge (plants, turf, shrubs, seasonal care).
* Competent in the use of garden machinery (mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, blowers).
* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation.
* Full UK driving licence (or equivalent).
Desirable:
* Relevant horticultural qualifications (e.g., RHS Level 2, NVQ, City & Guilds).
* PA1/PA6 spraying certificates.
* First aid training or health & safety certifications.
* Experience maintaining high-end gardens, estates, or commercial sites.
