Equipment Engineer - Galway. Job Summary: Reporting to the Group Engineering Lead, the Equipment Engineer will manage the maintenance of equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all equipment through effective maintenance strategies and programs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and leadership skills to oversee the maintenance operations and optimize equipment performance. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive maintenance programs for all equipment. Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifecycle of assets. Coordinate and execute maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades. Ensure all installations of equipment are executed correctly and meet the required standards Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to equipment performance and reliability. Provide technical support and guidance to technicians and other team members. Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in equipment maintenance. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety regulations and standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of equipment and maintenance procedures. Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history. Generate regular reports on equipment performance and downtime metrics. Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and equipment performance. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to address recurring issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to support operational goals. Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and accountability. Work alongside automation department to deliver equipment to production. Qualification and experience requirements: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience in equipment maintenance management, preferably in regulated industry. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Proficiency in using CMMS and other maintenance management software. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
