Overview
Equipment Engineer – 12-month contractor with a leading pharmaceutical company.
This hybrid role (3 days onsite) delivers multiple automation-related projects, primarily virtualising servers associated with live production equipment.
Responsibilities
Deliver virtualisation and other automation projects during defined shutdowns, coordinating with Global & local ITS, Automation, Validation, and Production teams plus external contractors.
Develop upgrades for control systems in collaboration with OEMs.
Provide automation support and expertise for procurement, build, commissioning, and qualification of GMP equipment.
Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for packaging, serialization & aggregation biopharmaceutical equipment across enzyme, monoclonal antibodies, oral dosage, medical device, laboratories, and packaging operations.
Handle procurement, acceptance of equipment and associated infrastructure on behalf of the company and report project status regularly.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety codes, approved KPIs and performance standards.
Engage internal and external customers, suppliers, and vendors to deliver first-time project deployment.
Chair and interact with assigned project teams to interpret requirements and secure approval for scope alignment.
Review engineering deliverables, initiate site change controls, and produce necessary documentation.
Provide performance metrics for budget, schedule, scope and quality.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or equivalent engineering discipline.
Minimum 5–7 years experience in a project management role.
Detailed knowledge of cGMP pharmaceutical environment with strong automation experience.
Exemplary communication skills, dedication and focus on delivering key outcomes.
