Job Title: Senior Security Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Specialist to support our safety and security management practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Undertaking security reviews and audits of countries' security and safety management practices
* Developing in-depth contextual knowledge of assigned regions to support country teams' analysis
* Delivering security management training to staff and partners
* Supporting the development, preparation, and review of Security Management Plans (SMP) and scenario planning for major events
* Managing the Concern security incident database (SIRT) and sharing information with appropriate staff and international security databases
* Responding to serious security incidents by following up with CDs or SFPs to discuss how they will address the deterioration
Requirements:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Minimum of five years' experience of working in insecure environments for a humanitarian organisation
* Fluent spoken and written English
* Proficiency in French required, proficiency in Arabic would also be an advantage
* Detailed knowledge of INGO security management approaches and practice
* Good understanding of humanitarian principles and practice
* Experience of developing and delivering training courses and workshops
* Ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff capacities in security awareness and practice
