Design Management Role Overview
The CAD Design Manager will oversee all design-related aspects of the organization, utilizing an in-house team and external engineering services. The design team's primary responsibilities include creating proposals and manufacturing drawings for light gauge steel frames, wall panels, floor cassettes, structural, and non-structural components.
Main Responsibilities:
* Full responsibility for the design team's outputs
* Programming the work of the design team to meet commercial requirements
* Fostering a solution-based ethos within the design team
* Collaborating with the commercial manager on proposals for potential clients
* Leading the design team in producing specifications and drawings for production
* Product development to meet client requirements
Key Accountabilities:
* Leading the design team and ensuring output delivery
* Preparing tendering proposals with the commercial manager
* Preparing architectural drawings for production and handover to clients
* Decision-making on product specification
* Ensuring compliance with certification and building regulations
* Driving continuous improvement of the design team and technology used
This role requires strong knowledge of building regulations and certification, as well as experience with Vertex, CAD, and BIM systems. Detailing knowledge and site experience are also advantageous.
A successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders, and drive innovation within the design team.
