Strength & Conditioning Coach - Sports Surgery Clinic, DublinLocation: SSC Sports MedicineJob type: PermanentOverview of role:The UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic is a World Class International Sports Surgery and Sports Medicine Hospital offering a combination of cutting-edge diagnosis, surgery, rehabilitation and performance testing for all, from the recreational to international athletes as inpatient and outpatients. We are looking to recruit a Strength and Conditioning Coach to work in our Sports Medicine department. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Sports Medicine services encompass Vicon 3-Dimensional Biomechanical testing, Isokinetic dynamometry, Vald Technology, Full physiological testing including Echocardiography, Exercise stress testing and VO2 max testing, ESWT and Platelet rich plasma preparation, and a full Strength and Conditioning training facility. Onsite Radiological imaging including three 3T MRI, 64 slice CT and full plain US and Radiological imaging.The Sports Medicine Department rehabilitation services encompass Sports medicine consultants, physiotherapists, biomechanists, and Strength and Conditioning coaches to inpatients, outpatients, elite teams and international clients.Our strength and conditioning coaches typically experience a relatively steep learning curve as regards testing and rehabilitation and so we are looking for an individual who is hungry to learn and upskill in a fast paced, driven and supportive environment.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary purpose of this role is to deliver the UPMC SSC's Strength and conditioning services which will involve testing, providing feedback and rehab to a wide range of patients with a range of injuries. This would suit a strength and conditioning coach comfortable and interested in the developing their skill sets around biomechanics, performance testing and rehabilitation. Broader responsibilitiesTo deliver a high-quality service of Strength and Conditioning to patients referred by UPMC SSC.To deliver Strength and Conditioning coaching to direct referrals for 1 on 1 trainingTo deliver the low back pain programme and other group training as requiredTo deliver physiological testing as required as part of fitness lab and run lab servicesTo ensure appropriate record keeping and electronic patient records and maintenance of good practice in data recording and evidence-based medicine.To participate in developing on-going protocols and evidence-based management for all common presentations to ensure standardisation of service.To attend and contribute to Strength and Conditioning and performance rehabilitation CPD sessionsTo participate in the Sports Medicine Department in house education programmeTo produce clinically relevant scientific poster presentations at local, national and International conferences where appropriate from the Performance Rehabilitation team.To assist in any Sports Medicine Department research programmes as necessaryTo attend sessions at the weekly Sports Medicine Department Clinical meetingTo provide appropriate cover for other Strength and Conditioning coaches as requiredTo carry out other duties as directed by the Head of S&C.
