Atalia Student Residences DAC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Galway, responsible for managing campus residences including Dunlin Village, Goldcrest Village, and Corrib Village, as well as coordinating conferences and events. The residences host over 1,800 students annually, supporting their transition to independent living with on-site facilities and services. During summer, the company accommodates thousands of guests for holidays, conferences, and events, operating one of Ireland's largest Fáilte Ireland approved accommodation centres.
Job Role
The Senior Receptionist will support the Front Office Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the reception team, delivering high-quality customer service to students and summer guests. The role involves effective communication, team leadership, and operational management at the reception desks in Goldcrest Village and Dunlin Village.

Responsibilities
Summer Period
* Ensure effective check-in and check-out processes for summer guests.
* Act as the first point of contact for enquiries via email, phone, or in person.
* Assist with guest interactions, aiming to enhance the guest experience.
* Support the Summer Reception Team with training and administrative duties.
* Handle complaints and queries promptly, recording and following up as necessary.
* Assist in monitoring and directing reception staff to ensure duties are performed correctly and staff motivation is maintained.
* Undertake Summer Duty Management shifts as required.
Academic Period
* Assist with student check-ins and check-outs in September and May.
* Collaborate on events with the Academic Team and Residential Assistants.
* Support training and development of the Academic Year Reception and Resident Assistants Teams.
* Coordinate with the Academic Business Manager to provide a positive experience for residents.
* Manage resident complaints and communicate with relevant managers.
* Assist with communication regarding outstanding payments and fees.
Personal Attributes and Requirements
* Minimum 1 year experience in a senior hospitality role or 3 years at junior level.
* Knowledge of student accommodation or hospitality sector.
* Customer service expertise, attention to detail, and reliability.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with PMS systems.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team or independently.
* Proficient in English.

Working Hours
During the summer, the role involves evening shifts and weekends. During the academic year, hours are mainly Monday to Friday, with some weekends for events. Availability during the summer (May - August) and academic year (September - April) is essential.
