Key Responsibilities:
* Full Lifecycle Product Validation: Validate new smart home devices, including alarm systems, IoT sensors, RF modules, and connected gateways.
* Extend validation to mobile applications, user interfaces, and cloud portals.
* Hardware Prototyping & Electrical Testing: Assemble and build prototypes. Perform a range of electrical safety and compliance tests, including ESD, surge, and transient testing.
* Issue Diagnosis & Resolution: Work closely with R&D and design engineers to identify and troubleshoot issues in circuit design, firmware, and system integration.
* Test Planning & Reporting: Develop and execute structured validation plans. Accurately document test processes and outcomes, contributing to technical reports and quality records.
* Quality Assurance Support: Ensure all products meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
* Support continuous improvement and documentation of validation processes.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Minimum 2 years hands-on experience testing electronic hardware and embedded software ideally in IoT, home security, or consumer electronics.
* Strong understanding of electronics principles and proficiency in reading and interpreting circuit schematics.
* Skilled in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
* Confident in soldering and rework, including surface mount technology (SMT).
* Excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and structured analytical thinking.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing tasks in alignment with project timelines.
* Degree or qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable Experience:
* Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, LabView).
* Familiarity with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
* Comfortable working with mains-powered devices.
* Holding a relevant QA certification (e.g., ISTQB) would be a plus.
