Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. As an educator, you will create a strengths-based learning environment, working with colleagues to provide high-quality care and support for children's individual early learning journeys.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement play-based activities that stimulate development across all areas: cognitive, social, emotional, and physical.
2. Monitor and record children's progress, ensuring developmental milestones are met and individualized plans are in place where needed.
3. Provide support for children with additional needs and adapt activities to ensure inclusivity.
4. Foster a warm, welcoming, and safe environment, prioritizing children's wellbeing.
5. Promote positive behavior and implement strategies to support children through challenging behaviors.
6. Maintain health and safety procedures, keeping the space clean and organized.
7. Collaborate with fellow educators to create and execute a comprehensive curriculum.
8. Share observations, insights, and strategies with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's learning.
9. Engage in regular team meetings to discuss educational plans, child development, and team goals.
10. Built strong relationships with parents and caregivers, keeping them updated on their child's progress and wellbeing.
11. Offer guidance and support to parents as needed, ensuring they feel confident in their child's development and learning experiences.
12. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of children's development, including learning journals and progress reports.
13. Maintain proper documentation in line with regulatory requirements, including safeguarding and health and safety protocols.
14. Participate in training and development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
15. Attend workshops, team meetings, and other professional development sessions as required.
Requirements
* A Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
* Previous experience working in an early years setting or similar childcare environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with children
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Knowledge and understanding of child safeguarding and health and safety standards
* First Aid Certification (or willingness to complete certification)
