Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Paediatric A&E Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to patients presenting with urgent or emergency health needs in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will adapt to various healthcare settings, maintain high clinical standards, and ensure compliance with national healthcare regulations and policies.
Responsibilities
* Deliver patient-centred care in line with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland standards.
* Triage and assess patients presenting to the Emergency Department using Manchester Triage or equivalent systems.
* Provide emergency nursing interventions including wound care, resuscitation support, IV therapy, and pain management.
* Monitor and evaluate patient progress and document clinical records accurately.
* Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
* Respond to clinical emergencies and support critical care transfers.
* Ensure infection control, patient safety, and privacy standards are upheld.
* Administer medications safely and according to protocols and guidelines.
* Adapt quickly to new environments and follow local hospital policies and procedures.
* Participate in clinical audits and mandatory training as required.

Requirements
* Registered Paediatric Nurse with active registration with An Bord Altranais /Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Must have eligibility to work in Ireland (EU/EEA passport or appropriate work visa).
* Triage training and certification (preferred but not mandatory).
* Mandatory training including but not exclusive to Current Basic Life Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification(desirable), Safety Intervention training(formerly MAPA can be supplied by Direct Medics)
* Garda Vetting (cost covered by employer).
* Minimum 12 months post-registration experience in an Paediatric A&E, ED, or Urgent Care setting.
* Experience in high-acuity environments and familiarity with Irish or UK healthcare systems (HSE/NHS or private).
