The Hospitality Aide is responsible for providing non-clinical support and assistance to residents in a healthcare or long-term care facility. This role involves helping residents with daily activities, maintaining a clean and comfortable environment, and ensuring that their needs are met in a compassionate and respectful manner. The Hospitality Aide supports the nursing and care teams by providing excellent customer service, engaging with residents, and enhancing their overall quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

* Resident Assistance:

o Provide companionship and engage with residents through conversation, activities, and social interaction.
o Assist residents with non-medical needs, such as making beds, tidying rooms, delivering linens, and ensuring personal items are easily accessible.
o Help residents during mealtime by serving meals, assisting with food and drink, and ensuring residents are comfortable.
o Respond promptly to residents' calls for assistance, addressing requests or notifying clinical staff as needed.
* Environment Maintenance:

o Ensure residents' rooms and common areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards.
o Deliver and distribute clean linens, towels, and other supplies as needed.
o Assist with setting up and cleaning dining areas before and after meals.
o Help maintain a pleasant and comfortable living environment for all residents.
* Resident Comfort:

o Support residents in maintaining a sense of dignity and independence.
o Assist residents with personal care needs, such as brushing their hair, adjusting their pillows, or ensuring they have water and snacks.
o Provide emotional support to residents by offering a kind ear and ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
* Team Support:

o Work collaboratively with nursing and care staff to ensure that residents' needs are met.
o Report any concerns regarding residents' health or well-being to the nursing team promptly.
o Assist with transporting residents to activities, dining areas, or appointments within the facility.
* Activity Support:

o Assist the activities department by helping residents participate in recreational or social events, such as arts and crafts, games, or group activities.
o Encourage residents to participate in facility programs and help them navigate to and from activities.


Qualifications

* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare, customer service, or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
* Skills:
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents.
o Compassionate, patient, and caring attitude.
o Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
o Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
