About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Design Project Manager for our client to oversee the design and coordination of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
This is a key role, working closely with both in-house teams and external partners to deliver technically robust, cost-effective, and buildable solutions for clients.
You will be responsible for managing the full design process from early concept and feasibility through to construction handover ensuring compliance with industry standards, Irish Water requirements, and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the design process for water infrastructure works, including pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, and treatment facilities.
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring all outputs meet client specifications and regulatory standards.
Review and approve technical drawings, calculations, and design documentation for accuracy and constructability.
Liaise with project managers, site delivery teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to integrate design and construction effectively.
Undertake design risk assessments, considering all health, safety, and environmental factors.
Monitor design budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Provide technical input into tenders and bid submissions.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Skills & Experience Required
Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in water/wastewater infrastructure design and project management.
Strong understanding of Irish Water design standards or similar utility requirements.
Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
