Job Title: Clinical Support Officer
This is a highly rewarding role that will enable you to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. As a Clinical Support Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and supporting high-quality clinical care practices across all service areas.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in the disability sector. You will also need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
The role requires flexibility and may involve occasional evening or weekend commitments. Travel between services is a core part of the position, with mileage reimbursed accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide professional guidance and practical support to staff on clinical care, behavioral supports and healthcare planning.
* Develop and implement support plans and strategies tailored to the needs of service users.
* Advise teams on risk assessment and management, supporting a proactive safety culture.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to assess and improve care quality.
* Collaborate with service users, families and support teams to review and update care and transition plans.
* Conduct reviews and make recommendations following clinical incidents or service issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Essential Qualifications & Experience:
o Registered Nursing Degree Qualification or experience in delivering SAMs or other clinical training programs.
o Minimum of 5 years' experience in the disability sector.
o At least 2 years in a relevant management or supervisory position.
* Desirable Attributes:
o Experience delivering or coordinating regulated residential services.
o Familiarity with HIQA standards, national health frameworks and audit tools.
