Job Summary - Technical Support Specialist (Spare part engineer)
The Technical Support Specialist supports the Maintenance Coach by managing all Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) activities that enable efficient manufacturing within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
The role ensures compliance, safety and reliable supply by maintaining effective inventory management, supporting maintenance operations, and optimising the CMMS (SAP-PM).
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & MRO Management
* Act as the department's technical expert for MRO processes and systems.
* Maintain and optimise CMMS (SAP-PM) usage, ensuring adherence to global and local standards.
* Support maintenance planning and scheduling to ensure consistency across GMP areas.
Data & Documentation
* Create and maintain master data (spare parts, BOMs, obsolescence management).
* Produce advanced MRO reports using SAP, Excel and other digital tools.
* Support change control, document retention, deviation management and training processes.
Compliance & Governance
* Ensure all activities align with cGMP, safety requirements and global policies.
* Participate in daily tier meetings, preparing and presenting system reports.
* Conduct root cause analysis (e.g., FMEA, 5 Whys, Fishbone) and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Coordination
* Work closely with engineering, global maintenance teams and other stakeholders to progress maintenance-related activities.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and standardisation of maintenance procedures.
General
* Contribute to a safe, compliant and high performance culture.
* Perform additional duties as required.
Overall Purpose To ensure the maintenance department operates efficiently by overseeing MRO activities, optimising systems and data, supporting compliance, and enabling the engineering team to deliver reliable, safe manufacturing performance.
