Location and Duration
Quetzaltenango, Guatemala – Minimum 2‑week placement. The fee is £750, covering food, accommodation, pre‑departure and in‑country support, orientation, and all project‑related activities. Flights, travel insurance, personal spending, visas and vaccinations are not included.
Volunteer Role
Work alongside local professionals in the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, nutrition and project management.
Participate in projects ranging from disease screening of indigenous families to assessing the nutritional level of malnourished local children, and from health‑education programmes to setting up personal hygiene workshops.
Assist volunteers from a range of healthcare backgrounds and help develop your own community‑based healthcare projects.
Receive 25 pre‑departure Spanish lessons and optional immersion experiences, including home‑stays and excursions to volcanoes, waterfalls and colonial towns.
Eligibility & Expectations
Volunteers do not replace staff; you support local teams while learning new skills.
