Location
Rea Services is based in the Loughrea / Craughwell / Bullaun area of Co. Galway. We provide day and residential services and individualised services to adults with high support needs, based on personal outcome measures. Our focus is to form a relationship / partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form real friendships.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Manager 1, who will play a pivotal role in managing the health and social care needs of people supported across REA Services. The successful applicant will be a valued member of both the Multi-Disciplinary Team and the Management Team, supporting the health and wellbeing of residents within community-based services.
The role will ensure that all clinical practice is delivered in line with NMBI requirements, as well as Corlann Care policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines. The successful candidate must provide leadership and vision in the development of the service in line with guidelines from New Directions, HIQA Standards and Regulation, Council on Quality and Leadership, and through Personal Outcomes Measures. In addition, a strategic part of this role is responding to new and enhanced needs and planning for future service developments as well as managing the existing services.

Area Manager / Service Coordinator
Qualifications
Relevant third level qualification in nursing (RNID / RGN / RMHN) and NMBI Registration.
QQI management qualification (highly desirable).
If not holding a phlebotomy certification, a commitment to obtain this within a set timeframe.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience in services for people with intellectual disabilities.
Experience working with patients with high medical needs or chronic illness is an advantage.
Experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism, with a Mental Health diagnosis, and who may exhibit behaviours of concern – an essential requirement.
Skills
Leadership, communication, and team‑working skills.
Flexibility and dynamism in relating to people in a range of situations, with an understanding of and commitment to public accountability principles in the health service.
Skill in building local connections and working on community‑based projects.
Full clean manual Irish driving licence.
Fluency in verbal and written English (essential).
Working Hours
39 hours per week based on a 7‑day duty roster, requiring day, night, and weekend cover. An on‑call commitment as the Senior Person for Rea Services at evenings and weekends is essential. Corlann’s model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures, requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Annual Leave
Leave will be granted according to the agreed leave assigned to the grade of the successful candidate (CNM1).
Remuneration
Based on the salary scale attached to the grade of the successful candidate (CNM1).
Tenure
This post is permanent, full‑time, and pensionable.
Probation
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period if the employer finds the appointee unsuitable. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.
