Overview Dublin Port Company is seeking an experienced, strategic, and dynamic health safety professional to lead the continued development and implementation of best-in-class safety cultural practices across Dublin Port Company and the SafePort initiative.
This pivotal leadership position calls for a forward-thinking professional who can inspire and guide our Health Safety team while engaging a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders throughout our complex and fast-paced port environment.

Key Responsibilities Champion social psychological of risk programmes and culture change initiatives that support long-term organisational safety maturity.
Provide expert advice and training, ensuring knowledge transfer and capability building across teams.
Lead the development and continual improvement of the Safety Management System, steering towards ISO ***** accreditation while balancing the legislative compliance with cultural development and support.
Chair and drive the SafePort Working Group, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among tenants and stakeholders.
Promote the development of relationships, the sharing of safety practices, lessons learned, and innovations throughout the Dublin SafePort community.
Build strong relationships with internal teams, port tenants, regulators, and third-party stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and best practice standards.
Prepare for audits, oversee incident investigations, and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience Degree in Occupational Health Safety, Engineering, Science, or related discipline.
Chartered or professional membership within a recognised body such as IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent.
Significant senior leadership experience in health safety, ideally within industrial, logistics, transportation, or port environments.
Proven success in developing and embedding safety management systems (SMS), ideally culminating in ISO ***** certification.
Demonstrated track record of leading cultural transformation, implementing a paradigm of social psychology of risk within a complex organisation.
Full, clean driving licence (valid in Ireland) is essential for this role.
