The selected candidate will join the Markets Division within Technology in Belfast as a Software Engineer III, initially supporting EBS Workstation. The team is a high performing group of individuals that deliver on a broad range of functions including systems/business analysis, software development and quality assurance services. The team is responsible from initial request review, impact assessment, and prioritization through to solution implementation. EBS Workstation is a next generation trading platform that enables professional traders to deal in foreign exchange markets in one of the largest and most liquid FX OTC markets in the world, so this is an exciting opportunity to lead the technical direction of a benchmark trading platform. Although initially working on the EBS Workstation product, the Markets Technology division also develop a variety of trading and post-trade solutions, supporting our exchange and clearing business. Please note equivalent combination of education and relevant proven work experience will be considered. Excellent front-end web development skills: Strong ES6 JavaScript skills with knowledge of developing large modular applications HTML5 using semantic mark-up and patterns for code reuse CSS with a solid understanding of modern techniques such as Responsive Web Design, Graceful Degradation and Object-Oriented Development Experience in application architecture, W3C standards, accessibility and usability Experience of working with Web Components Experience of working with Web Sockets Experience of Node.js Experience of building high performance websites and applications Understanding of the consumption of RESTful web services via HTTP Desirable Criteria Experience of coding in a story-driven Agile environment Prior experience working in financial services/exchange space Prior experience working with BDD methodologies and automated acceptance criteria Prior experience using Confluence, JIRA, or other Atlassian tools Experience with CI/CD pipelines, for example Jenkins, XL Release Experience with static analysis and security scanning tools such as Checkmarx CME Group: Where Futures are Made CME Group is the world's leading derivatives marketplace.
