Job Title:Toolmaker (2-Cycle Shift)Location:Longford, Ireland – Modern, high-volume medical device facilityType:Permanent, full-timeWe are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing, US-owned medical device manufacturer that has recently completed a major expansion of its Irish plant and is continuing to invest heavily in new lines and headcount.Key RequirementsFully qualified Toolmaker (time-served apprenticeship completed)Proven experience building, repairing and maintaining high-cavity injection moulds in a regulated, high-volume environmentStrong hands-on skills: milling, turning, surface grinding, EDM (spark erosion), bench fitting and weldingSolid track record in preventative mould maintenance and supporting 24/7 productionExperience with multi-cavity, hot-runner and valve-gated systems highly advantageousGood working knowledge of the injection-moulding process and ability to troubleshoot mould-related issues with Process EngineeringMedical / tight-tolerance / cleanroom experience is a distinct advantageKnowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and ancillary equipment is a plusComfortable liaising with external tool rooms, suppliers and OEMsFamiliarity with ISO 13485 / ISO 9001 documentation and audit requirementsMain ResponsibilitiesDay-to-day maintenance, repair and optimisation of all injection mouldsCreation and upkeep of mould history files and standard repair proceduresDesign, manufacture and repair of jigs, fixtures and ancillary toolingSupport new mould trials and process developmentDrive continuous improvement projects within the toolroomTrain and mentor apprentices and operators on mould care best practiceEnsure full compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standardsPlease apply for the job if interested or send your CV to
