At the Coolock manufacturing site we honour a Cadbury heritage and produce unrivalled confectionery products. The Manufacturing Operations Manager reports to the Senior Manufacturing Site Manager and leads production operations within one section of the plant (e.g., Twirl/Flake/Dairy Milk production areas), driving key performance targets in safety, quality, cost, productivity, delivery, sustainability and morale.
The role manages a team of production shift line managers and the operators and technicians reporting indirectly in a unionised environment. You will work closely with operations, engineering, continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma, planning, HR and other stakeholders to ensure the manufacturing strategy is executed and to demonstrate excellent people management skills.
How you will contribute
* Manage production shift line managers and all processes, ensuring general efficiency and output for your manufacturing area while working closely with engineering teams to achieve manufacturing goals.
* Lead change and transformation initiatives, implementing the IL6S-Integrated Lean Six Sigma phase journey, including AM‑Autonomous Maintenance & PM‑Progressive Maintenance.
* Model values and principles through effective coaching, mentoring and development of the team in a unionised environment.
* Support annual operational plans and targets for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability and Engagement, communicating plans and KPIs to employees to ensure alignment.
* Build healthy, open, collaborative relationships with Trade Union representatives and manage union relationships at the local level.
* Establish a governance system to review and control operational performance and Continuous Improvement plans, embedding a zero‑loss mindset.
* Lead Talent, Capabilities & Engagement for the manufacturing team by identifying and implementing critical levers to attract, retain and develop talent, building a sustainable workforce profile for the future.
What you will bring
* Strong operational and manufacturing leadership experience in a unionised CPG environment, ideally in food manufacturing with TPM, 5S, LEAN, Six Sigma expertise.
* Excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills, with strong analytical problem‑solving and team‑building abilities.
* Ideally an engineering or food science background, strong financial and business acumen, project management skills and knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment.
This is a day‑based position.
