We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Lead Senior Engineer to join our Consulting Highways team in Dublin.

What You Will Be Doing
Our Lead Senior Engineers play an important part within the Highways team. As a Lead Senior Civil Engineer, you will:
Lead junior engineers in designing and delivering a variety of highway and public transport projects, including cycleways, greenways, junction improvements, highway drainage/SUDs, bus priority measures, pavement schemes, maintenance programmes and major roads or bridges.
Work on local projects in Dublin and support initiatives in Ireland and the UK remotely.
Produce technically sound engineering solutions that comply with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the quality, cost and programme criteria.
Oversee the work of more junior staff and take responsibility for their actions.
Manage the commercial success of projects within your portfolio, controlling budgets and managing costs related to deliverables.
Liaise with clients and suppliers at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries, and maintaining client relationships.
Contribute to bid preparation and the general work‑winning function.
Drive effective health and safety practices within the team.
We want to hear from you if you have
Developed experience and expertise within the relevant technical field, usually gained in a Senior Engineer role or equivalent.
Able to produce technically sound engineering solutions, comply with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, and supervise junior staff.
Experience with health, safety and welfare management, e.g., integrated management system and the CDM Regulations.
Knowledge of design and specification processes, able to advise others and check high‑standard designs.
Highly experienced with relevant software and analytical tools; proficient in checking the work of others.
Excellent understanding of CDM and risk assessment, experienced in managing and communicating hazards and risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation and transfer.
Capable of acting as Principal Designer for suitable projects.
Supervisory and people‑management skills; capable of managing a medium‑sized, locally based single‑discipline technical team (people‑manager role included).
Incorporated or Chartered status, or an equivalent professional licence, is desirable and may be essential on particular contracts.
