EIB Trainee – Information Systems Directorate – Cloud Enablement Unit – Luxembourg

Join the European Investment Bank (EIB) as a trainee in the Information Systems Directorate (IS) – Platforms & Services Department (P&S) – Cloud Enablement Unit (CET) at its headquarters in Luxembourg. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in an international, multi‑cultural environment.

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1 March/April 2026). Possible extension up to 6 months if required by University.

Eligibility: Only applicants who are nationals of EU Member States or citizens of candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine) will be considered. Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps the traineeship duration will not be considered. Applications are limited to a maximum of three submissions; only the first three will be retained.

Objective: Support the exploration and adoption of automated testing practices within a defined scope, such as a single development team or pilot project.


Responsibilities

* Conduct a review of current testing practices within a selected team or project.
* Pilot one or two automated testing tools or frameworks, with guidance from your supervisor.
* Document findings, challenges, and recommendations.
* Prepare onboarding materials or a short presentation for other teams.
* Participate in team meetings and knowledge‑sharing sessions.


Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills

* Final year of studies or university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Interest in software testing and automation domain.
* Hands‑on knowledge/skills in software engineering development and deployment domains is an advantage.
* Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of another EU language is an advantage.
