AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support every data center and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep the cloud running. You will work with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver the highest safety and security standards while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost.
Key Job Responsibilities
Lead designs (construction drawings and specifications) for physical security elements (cameras, access control, intrusion detection, fences, gates, etc.) for DC projects.
Use Blue Beam and other drafting technologies to collaborate with design teams and produce designs in Revit (ACC)/CAD.
Coordinate security requirements with all other disciplines during the design process of a new building or campus (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, IT).
Review and direct the work of physical security engineering design consultants.
Serve as the subject‑matter expert of all designs, supervise, and approve all design deliverables developed by third‑party and in‑house design services teams at each project milestone.
Collaborate with other security organizations within AWS to develop design standards, evaluate cost, risk, and benefits of designs, and facilitate design discussions.
Participate in maintenance Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for physical security elements.
Manage multiple fast‑paced projects simultaneously.
Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with design consultants (anticipated travel < 25%).

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities).
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
Experience in commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer license.
Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
