My client, a leading global financial services organisation, is seeking a
Private Equity Fund Accountant Supervisor
to join their growing team in Dublin. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role within a dynamic and expanding private markets environment.
This position would suit an experienced fund accounting professional with strong knowledge of alternative funds, particularly private equity, who enjoys people management, client interaction and working in a fast-paced setting.
The Role
As the Private Equity Fund Accountant Supervisor, you will oversee the delivery of accurate and timely NAV production for a portfolio of private equity and alternative investment funds. You will supervise and mentor a team of Fund Accountants while acting as a key point of contact for clients on fund accounting-related matters.
You will play an important role in supporting new fund launches, ensuring operational excellence, and building strong relationships both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the review and oversight of NAV calculations to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
* Review and approve expense schedules, income and capital activity calculations, and fund fee calculations.
* Maintain robust internal controls throughout the NAV production process.
* Act as a primary contact for clients on fund accounting matters, ensuring a professional and proactive approach to query management.
* Support and contribute to the launch of new private equity and alternative funds.
* Build strong working relationships with internal teams and third-party stakeholders.
* Develop expert knowledge across complex fund structures, financial instruments, and private markets.
* Supervise, coach and mentor junior team members, contributing to training, performance feedback and ongoing development.
* Participate in departmental initiatives and project work to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement.
About You
* Minimum 4 years' experience
in fund accounting, including exposure to alternative or private equity funds.
* Strong understanding of general ledger entries, trial balance reviews, and fund fee calculations (e.g., management and performance/incentive fees).
* Experience working with closed-ended fund structures, Limited Partnership Agreements and Offering Memorandums.
* Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA) is an advantage but not essential.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams and with clients.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to take ownership of allocated work.
* Third-level qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is desirable.
