About the Job
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will lead the development and implementation of strategies and practices to improve both engineering and operational efficiency within the
organization, ensuring the successful delivery of site operations, business strategy and site objectives.
You provide leadership to your team by building a strategic vision for people development, compliance and operational excellence. You are responsible for driving continuous improvement efforts and cross-functional collaboration by establishing and tracking goals and performance targets.
Your areas of responsibility will include:
• Develop and implement long-term strategies for engineering and operational excellence,
aligned with overall business objectives.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing processes, workflows, and systems to
enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
• Manage and mentor your team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and
collaboration.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress, identify areas for
improvement, and demonstrate the impact of operational excellence initiatives.
• Lead and manage organizational change initiatives related to process improvements and
new technologies, ensuring smooth transitions and employee buy-in.
• Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices,
including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), and
other relevant guidelines.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to support operational excellence
efforts, such as Lean Six Sigma, data analytics, and automation solutions.
• Provide training and coaching to employees on lean principles, continuous improvement
methodologies, and relevant technologies.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineering teams, operations teams, and
senior management, to drive alignment and support for operational excellence initiatives.
• Experience in leading and managing organizational change initiatives is essential.
Lead all operational aspects of the engineering, maintenance, health and safety and operational excellence functions including productivity, cost, continuous improvement and daily business processes.
• Ensure all personnel receive necessary and appropriate training for their position.
• Participate and represent Company in regulatory audits and inquiries.
• Develop and achieve annual budget
• Enhance the mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills within the department; provide technical resources to other departments within the organization regarding facilities and equipment issues; improve upon the departmental systems used to facilitate the workload; represent and foster harmonious relationships both inter and intra-departmentally.
• Be responsible for technical roadmaps, including evaluation of new technologies and solutions.
• Serve as an expert for executive management regarding facility and site expansion programs.
• Managing multiple concurrent engineering projects, schedules, budget and resource allocation.
• Collaborating with business leadership to define and execute goals, strategy and vision.
• Implement and monitor development processes to ensure high quality business results.
• Building & developing team capabilities through resource analysis, hiring, mentoring and training to support business needs.
• Support solutioning and responses to RFPs as needed.
• Meet and present with clients and needed to implement solutions.
About you
Qualified to a minimum of degree level in Engineering with a post-graduate qualification (MBA)
advantageous, you have a minimum 10 years experience working in cGMP pharmaceutical
manufacturing, engineering or business operations, 5+ of those years in a leadership role. With cross-functional project experience, knowledge of EU & FDA cGMP guides and best practices you have the ability to function in a rapidly changing environment while balancing multiple priorities
simultaneously.
You are an effective leader and have built, managed and motivated teams in the past. You also have a proven track record as an influencer at senior management level, are analytical and a strong decision maker with excellent problem solving skills. You manage change collaboratively and possess excellent written & verbal communication skills.
You will draw from many other attributes including critical thinking, customer focus and time
management. You have the ability to form positive relationships and enjoy collaborating, gaining
knowledge and solving customer, partner, vendor and internal challenges/issues. Focused on
Continuous Improvement you like to identify and initiate process and system changes to their
conclusion ensuring delivery of results for the business.
