Job Description
We are seeking a Health Informatics Solutions Specialist to play a central role in the growth of Medical Supply Company’s Health Informatics business.
This role is responsible for leading customer engagement and commercial activity across Health Informatics, working in close partnership with healthcare organisations as they navigate technology, data, and digital transformation challenges.
The Health Informatics Solutions Specialist operates as a trusted point of contact for customers, shaping opportunities, guiding solution selection, and ensuring that proposed solutions are appropriate, sustainable, and aligned with both customer need and MSC capability.
Success in the role requires building trusted relationships while actively progressing opportunities through to commercial outcomes, ensuring a consistent and sustainable sales pipeline.
Scope of the role
The Health Informatics Solutions Specialist has responsibility for customer engagement and opportunity development across MSC’s Health Informatics portfolio, including:
Information Management Systems
Integration and middleware solutions
Data rescue and legacy system migration
Digitisation and scanning solutions
Bedside, point‑of‑care, and workflow‑enabling technologies across acute, primary care, and home‑care settings
The role supports customers across the island of Ireland, spanning public, voluntary, and private healthcare providers.
The role works closely with the Health Informatics team to develop, progress, and convert opportunities into commercial outcomes for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership in customer engagement
Act as the primary point of contact for customers engaging with MSC on Health Informatics solutions
Lead structured conversations with customers to understand clinical workflows, operational challenges, data risks, and strategic objectives
Guide customers through technology options while progressing decisions toward clear outcomes
Establish MSC as a trusted partner in customers’ Health Informatics journey, not simply a solution supplier
Commercial ownership and opportunity development
Identify, develop, and actively progress Health Informatics opportunities aligned with customer priorities and MSC strategy
Lead opportunities from early engagement through to successful commercial agreement and close
Work collaboratively with internal teams to prepare proposals, quotations, and tender responses
Maintain clarity around scope, assumptions, responsibilities, and constraints
Build, manage, and convert a realistic, deliverable pipeline grounded in operational feasibility
Take ownership of achieving agreed commercial targets and maintaining a strong, active pipeline
Cross‑functional coordination
Work closely with the Health Informatics Solutions Architect to ensure technical feasibility and appropriate solution design
Engage with Marketing, Quality, and Accounts to align promotional content, appropriate clinical guideline adherence and commercial intent
Ensure disciplined handover from opportunity through to delivery and support phases
Act as a focal point for resolving pre‑sales and early‑engagement issues
Market, governance, and domain understanding
Maintain a working understanding of the Irish healthcare landscape and its operational and regulatory context
Understand and articulate the importance of data protection, cybersecurity, and information governance in healthcare settings
Stay informed of developments in Health Informatics, digital health, and information management systems relevant to MSC customers
Represent MSC professionally at customer meetings, workshops, and industry engagements
Identify unmet customer needs and feed structured insights back into product, service, and market development
Candidate Profile
Essential
Experience working within healthcare, health informatics, laboratory, clinical, or healthcare IT environments
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage colleagues and stakeholders and explain technical or operational concepts clearly
Demonstrated ability to build trust‑based professional relationships across teams or organisations
Interest in developing into a commercially focused or customer‑facing role
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work across technical, operational, and commercial considerations
Professional, pragmatic, and people‑focused approach
Full driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
Experience with Health Informatics, healthcare IT systems, integration, or interoperability
Exposure to hospital, laboratory, or clinical workflows
Experience working with or alongside vendors, suppliers, or external partners
Awareness of procurement or tender processes in healthcare
Familiarity with data management, digitisation, or system lifecycle challenges
Interest in business development, solution design, or commercial strategy
