Senior Buyer
Kenny-Whelan & Associates are hiring a Senior Buyer to work on site at one of their Client's Global Life Sciences Companies in Cork.
Profile of the Role:
This role focuses on the procurement and planning of raw materials used in both commercial and clinical manufacturing.
The position is based in Cork and aims to ensure the availability of materials in the right quantity, at the right time, and at the optimal cost.
Duties:
Develop and enhance systems and processes for the end-to-end purchasing operation.
Collaborate with procurement teams and manage supplier performance and relationships.
Build strong partnerships with key suppliers to optimise forecasting, purchase orders (POs), and invoicing processes, ultimately enhancing customer service both internally and externally.
Oversee Purchase Order (PO) management, including PO creation, submission to suppliers, updates, inquiries, and assessments for closure.
Conduct materials planning and forecasting using ERP MRP, Min Max systems, and other electronic tools to determine order requirements based on consumption and scheduling.
Manage procurement operations and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials.
Maintain and update item data in SAP systems.
Generate and deliver supplier performance scorecards and meet regularly with supplier account managers to communicate production demands and forecasts.
Monitor supplier performance and report findings to management.
Handle administrative duties, including processing goods returns to vendors (RTVs) and resolving any PO/invoice issues.
Education / Experience:
Irish Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management
Business Studies with Supply Chain qualification
Advanced certificate in Purchasing and Materials Management desired
5 to 10 years of relevant experience
Prior experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
Strong Leadership experience a key requirement
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and working knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidance documents.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong computer, organizational, and project management skills.
Able to work independently.
Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy.

As this is a Contract role, you will need a Visa: either Stamp 1G or Stamp 4
