**Job Description**: As an electrical engineer, you will work alongside experienced site engineers on multi-discipline construction projects. Our graduate scheme offers technical and soft skills courses to help your professional development.
The Role
We are hiring graduate electrical engineers to work on large-scale civils, rail, water, oil & gas, and electricity upgrade projects as part of the green energy transition. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate setting out of works and dimensional control, assisting in testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems, and ensuring that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient information for construction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accurate setting out of works and dimensional control
* Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems
* Ensure that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient information for construction
* Formally request any missing information in sufficient time to allow the programme to proceed without delay
* Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan
* The production of survey information and red-lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records
* Ensuring activities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan
* Accurate maintenance of Quality Management System records
* Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date, and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers' defined requirements
* Ensure the site diary is accurately maintained noting against each record the date, location, and serial number of equipment used
* Informing senior management of any non-conformances or poor workmanship
* Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate, and appropriate information to carry out their duties
* Closing liaison with the Site Foreman/Supervisor and Works Managers
* Assist with the coordination and supervision of Sub-contractors in the performance of the Works
* Ensure that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used
* Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer's recommendations current working practice, contract specification or project requirements
* Assist the Site Management team to update KPI's, material reconciliation, and progress reports
* Assist QS with site quantities and measures for monthly valuations
* Collaborate with senior engineers to design electrical systems, circuits, for various projects
* Conduct analysis and simulations to ensure the functionality and safety
* Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for electrical systems
* Maintain accurate records and update design documents, as necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications:
You should possess a degree in Electrical Engineering (or be set to graduate by Sept 2026) and have relevant construction experience. You should also possess problem-solving skills, personal ownership of your development, and be able to work as part of a team. You should be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
