The Abbey Bar, Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town has an opening for a Bar Back.
This is a support role that assists bartenders by handling tasks to keep the bar running smoothly, such as restocking liquor and garnishes, cleaning and washing glasses, putting away stock, keeping store rooms in order and keeping the bar area clean. This role is suitable for over 18s only as it requires late night work at times. Bar backs need to be physically fit, quick, and organized to work effectively in our fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities
Bar Operations
* Restock spirits, beer, wine, kegs, garnishes, glassware, ice, and mixers throughout service.
* Change kegs and gas lines quickly and safely.
* Keep the bar clean and tidy, including wiping surfaces and collecting empty glasses.
Customer Service Support
* Assist bartenders during busy periods (e.g., fetching items, running drinks if required).
* Collect and wash glassware using glass washers and proper hygiene standards.
* Maintain a professional and friendly attitude with customers when interacting.
Cleaning & Hygiene
* Clean spills, sweep floors, and maintain overall bar cleanliness.
* Clear and return empty glasses from tables and the bar counter.
* Dispose of rubbish and recycling according to venue procedures
Stock & Inventory
* Assist with stock rotation (FIFO) and deliveries.
* Report low stock levels to bartenders or management.
* Change kegs and gas lines quickly and safely.
* Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups, and other bar prep items.
* Keep the bar clean and tidy, including wiping surfaces and collecting empty glasses.
* Keep store rooms organised and tidy
