CMM PROJECT ENGINEER

CMM Project Engineer responsible for sustaining the daily engineering operations across their production as well as providing support to CMMs on the production floor. The successful candidate will have proven experience in troubleshooting issues with CMMs in a production environment and will have a strong CNC background.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Contribute and input into Engineering functional strategy
2. Provide support to CMMs when required on production floor
3. Champion operations excellence across the site
4. Plans and conducts engineering research design
5. Plans and conducts significant engineering and lean initiatives
6. Standardises and optimises best practices and procedures across the network
7. Co-ordinates with other unit's vendors and senior managers as needed to ensure specific cost, time and regulatory standards are met
8. Communicates with business partners to resolve process and product issues
9. Evaluates the results of projects and provides manufacturing guidance and assistance as required
10. Technical leadership of Staff engineers, senior engineers, Engineers, Coop Students, Technicians and operators as required
11. Champion lean from an operations engineering perspective
12. Partner with the CI&A team
13. All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
14. Degree or Masters in relevant Engineering or Science discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic, Production etc.) or technical experience equivalency
15. Minimum of 5 years' manufacturing experience
16. Metrology experience, ideally in Mitutoyo & Zeiss CMMs
17. Knowledge of laser engraving machine
18. Recognised Lean qualification, ideally a black belt
19. Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business-critical projects
20. Production process troubleshooting experience required
21. Dynamic "hands-on" individual prepared to take responsibility
22. Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team
23. Excellent communication and influencing skills with both internal and external stakeholders
24. Capable of technically leading a multi-disciplined team in a dynamic, regulated and results motivated environment
25. Demonstrable Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks
26. Excellent presentation and written / verbal communication skills
27. Demonstrable ability to lead significant projects and initiatives
28. A team player, with a flexible approach
29. Technological expert, willing to source, investigate and implement technological and automation advances
30. Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
