Project Director
to lead the delivery of cutting-edge
Data Centre
projects across the EU, based from
Dublin, Ireland
.
This is a pivotal, high-impact role for a proven leader with a Tier 1 contractor background, ready to drive the construction of mission-critical digital infrastructure on a multinational scale.
As Project Director, you will hold ultimate responsibility for the successful, safe, and profitable delivery of complex, hyper-scale data centre developments from inception through to client handover.
You'll drive strategic direction, ensure operational excellence, foster key client relationships, and lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve outstanding results in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Project Leadership:
Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for significant data centre construction projects across the EU.
End-to-End Delivery:
Own the entire project lifecycle, ensuring delivery against demanding schedules, budgets, and quality standards for hyper-scale clients.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with hyperscale clients, consultants, local authorities, and critical vendors.
Commercial & Financial Control:
Oversee comprehensive project financial performance, including P&L, detailed forecasting, rigorous cost control, and strategic risk management.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and motivate large, multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a high-performance, safety-conscious, and collaborative culture.
Programme Management:
Develop, monitor, and control complex project programmes, ensuring critical path adherence and timely milestones.
Risk Mitigation:
Proactively identify, assess, and implement effective mitigation strategies for technical, commercial, and operational risks inherent in multinational data centre construction.
Innovation & Best Practice:
Drive continuous improvement, leveraging the latest construction techniques and technologies relevant to the data centre sector.
What You'll Bring
Extensive Experience:
Proven experience (typically 12+ years) as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager with a robust track record of successfully delivering
large-scale Data Centre projects
.
Tier 1 Contractor Background:
Experience gained from a
Tier 1 contractor
is essential.
Sector Expertise:
Deep understanding of data centre construction, including critical mechanical, electrical (MEP), IT infrastructure, and civil works.
Leadership Acumen:
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of managing diverse teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
Commercial Prowess:
Strong commercial and financial management abilities, with a keen eye for detail and profitability.
Technical Proficiency:
Comprehensive knowledge of project planning, control methodologies, and relevant software.
Qualifications:
A relevant degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Professional accreditation (e.g., CIOB, SCSI, RICS) is highly desirable.
