The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and proactive senior leader to head our Mobility Advisory team. This is a pivotal advisory role, responsible for leading a high-performing team, delivering strategic consulting to clients, and helping to shape the future of sustainable mobility across Ireland and Europe. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in transport policy, urban strategy, and the transition to low-carbon, intelligent mobility, alongside a proven ability to lead, inspire, and grow a multidisciplinary advisory team.
The permanent, full-time Team Leader will lead the Mobility Advisory team, based in our Dublin office and delivering strategic advisory services to clients across Ireland and Europe. The team brings together expertise in planning, research, advisory, and engineering, with a core focus on policy, strategy, and the integration of land use and transport planning to advance sustainable mobility and the transition to low-carbon travel.
The Mobility Advisory team is part of Arup's Mobility, Cities and Infrastructure Advisory group, within the c.100-person Advisory and Digital Services team at Arup Ireland. Advisory & Digital Services is a multi-disciplinary team that integrates strategy, design, people, processes, engineering, economics, and technology to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions for the built environment.
About the role
As Mobility Advisory Team Leader, you will:
* Set the strategic direction for the Mobility Advisory team, ensuring alignment with Arup's vision and client needs.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of advisory professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
* Oversee the delivery of high-impact advisory projects, focusing on policy, strategy, and integrated land use and transport solutions.
* Manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring quality outcomes.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, clients, partners, and stakeholders at local, national, and European levels, acting as a trusted advisor.
* Drive business development, identifying and securing new opportunities in sustainable mobility, decarbonisation, and transport innovation.
* Represent Arup as a thought leader in mobility advisory, contributing to industry forums and advancing our reputation for excellence.
* Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality project delivery, effective client engagement, and collaborative teamwork, contributing positively to the team's shared goals and culture.

Qualifications, knowledge and skills
* As Mobility Advisory Team Leader at Arup, you will have:
* Advanced degree (Master's or equivalent) in transport planning, urban planning, public policy, or a related field. A bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience will also be considered.
* Substantial experience (typically 10+ years) in mobility advisory, transport policy, or a closely related discipline, including leadership of advisory teams and complex projects.
* Demonstrated expertise in sustainable mobility, transport policy, decarbonisation strategies, and the integration of land use and transport planning.
* Strong track record of client engagement and delivery of strategic advisory services to public and/or private sector clients.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing high-quality reports and presenting to senior audiences.
* Familiarity with relevant national and European transport frameworks, guidelines, and funding programmes is highly desirable.
* Experience with digital tools, data-driven decision making, or advisory-focused analytics is advantageous but not essential.
