Internationally we export some 240 different products to over 100 countries worldwide.The Group's Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland.We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Microbiology Laboratory team on a work placement. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment, supporting critical microbiological testing and analysis processes.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare media and maintain accurate records.Perform microbiological analysis of powder, butter, cream, and environmental samples.Prepare samples for dispatch for pathogen analysis.Conduct daily analysis of process water.Perform calibration checks on product test equipment and record results.Carry out daily positive and negative QC checks on media.Analyse rinse water samples for ATP and pH as verification of cleaning procedures.Conduct investigative sampling and testing to improve product quality and hygiene standards.Use SAP for product batch traceability.Input samples and record results in LIMS.Perform shelf-life analysis of retained finished product samples.Participate in proficiency testing and split sample testing as requiredRequired for this role :Currently studying or recently completed a qualification in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related discipline.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.Good IT skills experience with SAP and LIMS is an advantage.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and organizational skills.
