Lab Technician – Electronics Assembly & Prototyping
Full-time, 6-month onsite contract based in Limerick, supporting hardware development, electronics assembly, and prototyping activities.
The role involves hands-on PCB work, cable assembly, technical demo support, and collaboration with engineering teams in a lab environment.
Responsibilities
Assemble and test cable harnesses and connectors to required specifications
Perform PCB soldering and rework, including surface mount and through-hole components
Support the setup, preparation, and troubleshooting of electronic hardware demos
Assist engineering teams with hardware assembly, testing, modifications, and rework activities
Maintain lab tools, test equipment, and component inventory
Ensure compliance with lab safety standards, documentation practices, and cleanliness requirements
Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to support ongoing prototyping and development projects
Requirements
Qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Hands-on experience with electronics assembly, soldering, PCB work, and cable manufacturing
Knowledge of PCB rework processes and soldering standards such as IPC
Understanding of electronic components, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Experience using test equipment including multimeters and oscilloscopes
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Previous experience within a lab, manufacturing, or prototyping environment preferred
Knowledge of ESD-safe working practices advantageous
Exposure to Python or C/Embedded C beneficial
Understanding of high-voltage systems desirable
Experience with PCB design considered an advantage
