About the Role
We are a growing and dynamic accountancy practice seeking a qualified ACA accountant with a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience to join our team as a Senior Accountant. This role offers a varied workload with a strong focus on accounts preparation, audit assignments, and tax compliance/advisory work for a broad portfolio of clients, including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and high-net-worth individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Preparation & Audit
* Prepare and review year-end statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and FRS 105.
* Lead and manage audit assignments from planning through to completion, liaising directly with clients and audit team members.
* Review junior staff work and provide support and mentoring where required.
* Work closely with partners and managers to ensure high standards of service delivery.
Taxation
* Prepare and review corporation tax and personal tax returns for a wide range of clients.
* Provide tax planning and advisory support in areas such as:
* Capital Gains Tax
* VAT
* R&D claims
* Director/shareholder remuneration planning
* Capital Allowances
* Liaise with Revenue on behalf of clients and manage responses to tax enquiries.
* Keep up to date with relevant tax legislation and share insights with clients and internal teams.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* ACA qualified with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in practice.
* Proven experience in accounts preparation and audit assignments.
* Strong working knowledge of corporate and personal taxation.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong client relationships.
* Competent in using accountancy and tax software such as Bright Accounts Production, Xero, and Sage.
· Proficient in using Microsoft Excel with experience with formulas, data validation, PivotTables, and conditional formatting.
· Ability to clean and organize large datasets for reporting and decision-making.
Desirable:
* CTA qualification (fully or part-qualified).
* Experience with group consolidations, charity accounts, or international clients.
