Working closely with the commercial, design, and construction teams, the Estimator plays a key role in ensuring projects are priced correctly and commercially viable.This is a senior, experience-led role requiring a strong understanding of construction methodology, commercial risk, and tender strategy, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of the estimating process.The role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, measuring quantities, obtaining subcontractor and supplier pricing, and preparing detailed tender submissions. The Estimator will contribute to value engineering, risk assessment, and commercial strategy to support successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesTendering & Cost EstimatingReview tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and bills of quantitiesPrepare accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, plant, preliminaries, and subcontract packagesMeasure quantities from drawings and specifications where requiredDevelop detailed pricing breakdowns and cost plansPrepare full BOQ using excel and cost coding of sameSubcontractor & Supplier PricingPrepare and issue subcontract and supplier enquiriesAnalyse and compare subcontractor and supplier quotationsLiaise with subcontractors and suppliers to clarify scope, pricing, and programmeEnsure pricing aligns with project requirements and commercial strategyCommercial & Design InputAssist with value engineering and cost-saving initiatives during tender and pre-construction stagesIdentify commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissionsWork with design teams to assess buildability and cost implications of design changesContribute to tender review meetings and commercial sign-off processesTender Submissions & HandoverPrepare and compile tender submissions in line with deadlinesEnsure all pricing, clarifications, and assumptions are clearly documentedSupport negotiations with clients and consultants during the tender processHandover successful tenders to the commercial and project teams, including budgets and assumptionsReporting & AdministrationMaintain accurate estimating records, cost data, and pricing benchmarksUpdate estimating databases and historic cost informationSupport continuous improvement of estimating processes and proceduresQualifications & ExperienceMinimum of 5-year experience dealing with residential building in IrelandExperience in an Estimator or Assistant Estimator role within the construction industryStrong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricingAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsStrong numerical, analytical, and organisational skillsExcellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with subcontractors and internal teamsDegree or qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline (desirable)Job Type: Full-timePay: €41,940.33-€80,000.00 per yearWork authorisation:Ireland (required)Work Location: In person
