Part-Qualified Accountant (Construction)South Dublin Kennedy & Partners Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Irish construction business with a busy project pipeline.
Due to continued growth, we're hiring a part-qualified accountant to support the finance function with a strong focus on subcontractor accounting and Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT).
The Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll support month-end and day-to-day finance, with hands-on responsibility for subcontractor onboarding, RCT compliance, and supplier processing in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and post month-end journals Assist with management accounts preparation and month-end close Subcontractor accounting: set-up, verification, and maintaining compliant records RCT administration: Verify subcontractor details and tax clearance where required Issue/track RCT contracts and payment notifications via ROSEnsure correct RCT rates are applied and deductions recorded accurately Reconcile RCT control accounts and resolve discrepancies Process supplier invoices, match to POs/contracts, and manage payment runs Supplier statement reconciliations and query resolution Bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations Support VAT returns and general tax compliance as required Assist with job costing / project reporting (costs, margins, WIP support)Support audit preparation and documentation requests Identify process improvements across AP, subcontractor controls, and reporting Involvement in ongoing project accounting - margin analysis / cost reporting What We're Looking For (Essential)Part-qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or actively progressing exams Experience in an accounting role (construction/engineering strongly preferred)Practical RCT exposure (ROS filings, payment notifications, reconciliation experience)Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups; Power Query a bonus)Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines Clear communicator, comfortable dealing with subcontractors, PMs, and suppliers Desirable Experience with job costing / WIP / project accounting What's on Offer Stable, growing business with clear progression to qualified level Supportive team and exposure to end-to-end finance Competitive salary and benefits
