Public Health Advocate Required

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a school network in West Galway/Connemara. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the physical and mental health of students.

* Maintain the health and wellbeing of students in West Galway/Connemara Schools Network by implementing effective health programs and services.
* Develop and implement initiatives that promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles among students, parents, and staff.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure the overall health and wellbeing of students, and to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
* Work closely with local healthcare providers and community organizations to provide comprehensive support services to students and their families.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health programs and services, and make recommendations for improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

* Health Promotion and Education: Develop and deliver health education programs for students, parents, and staff on topics such as healthy eating, physical activity, and mental health.
* Program Development and Implementation: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and community partners to develop and implement health programs and services that meet the needs of students and their families.
* Community Outreach and Partnerships: Build relationships with local healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies to provide access to health services and resources for students and their families.
* Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data on student health outcomes, program effectiveness, and other relevant metrics to inform decision-making and improve program quality.
* Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and community partners to ensure that health programs and services are aligned with school goals and priorities, and to build strong partnerships that support student success.

Requirements: A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., public health, education, nursing) and experience working in a school or community setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
